Taking care of your data
If you choose to contact me by email, by phone, or by using the contact form, personally identifiable information you share will be stored electronically. Including:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your physical address
As part of any counselling you may have, additional personal information may be stored electronically, physically, or both.
Storage of your data
All client information is stored electronically on password protected devices. Physical documents are stored in a locked unit on secure premises.
Backup copies of contact form data is held for 30 days on a secure web server and is then automatically destroyed.
Data is retained for two weeks after the point you discontinue therapy. Otherwise, your information will be stored securely for five years, or until such time as you ask for it to be deleted.
Sharing your data
Your data is not shared with any other party unless:
- there is a safeguarding concern (your details will be shared with the relevant emergency services and/or medical professional),
- there is a legal requirement for me to do so (such as a court request), or
- you give consent for it to be shared with medical professionals.
Your rights
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, have corrections made to that data if there is a mistake, or have your data deleted if it is no longer needed.

If you feel your data has not been handled appropriately, you can complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). My ICO registration number is ########.
